Maggie's home!

Maggie successfully made the long journey from northwest DC to southeast DC without a hitch and is now ensconced in a bassinet on Duddington Place. She still hasn't been in a state but so far seems unfazed by her lack of representation in Congress. Driving past all the memorials and monuments appears to have softened the blow. For the journey, Maggie wore another of her Grandma Janet hats and a Heidi-made fleece suit. It was hard to leave Bea in the NICU, but she has promised to grow as quickly as possible so she can make our home complete.

  3. Woo hoo!!!!!!! Congrats to Maggie for making the trip home with her usual mellowness. Can't wait for Bea to bulk up a bit more and make the trip home with her sister to Duddington Place.

Isn't driving home with your baby for the first time pretty surreal? I remember doing it with Ben (he was screaming his head off, hungry, of cousre; we had to pull over so I could nurse him, even though I'd just done that at the hospital, and it was only about 3 miles from the Duke Hospital to our house!). The adventure continues...

  4. This is all so exciting and beautiful , Heidi you've already sewn an outfit ? You're shaming me. Maggie looks great in her new car seat and bassinet & Bea is on the way. Maggie brought a ray of sunshine to The Hill. We're so happy for you all.
